Weapons
You have 6 weapon slots. Each plays differently — picking the right one at the right time is the key to winning.
Sword (Slot 1)
Fast and reliable. Quick windup, short recovery. Your bread-and-butter for close combat.
150ms windup · 15 stamina · Dmg scales with level
Bow (Slot 2)
Hold attack to charge, release to fire. Three charge tiers: quick shot (0.6s), medium (1.5s), and full power (2.8s). Safe at range.
1 / 2.5 / 5 damage per tier · 10 stamina
Axe (Slot 3)
Slow but devastating. Long windup you can see coming, but deals massive damage and knocks the enemy back. Breaks shields!
600ms windup · 30 stamina · Knockback · Dmg scales with level
TNT (Slot 4)
Throw an explosive that damages everyone in the blast zone — including you! Great for punishing grouped-up enemies. Limited supply.
4 damage · 20 stamina · 6 charges · Self-damage!
Shield (Slot 5)
Hold attack to block. Stops swords, arrows, wind charges, and TNT. But an axe will smash right through it and disable it for 8 seconds.
Drains stamina while held · Beaten by Axe
Wind Charge (Slot 6)
Launches the enemy into the air and knocks them sideways. They take fall damage on landing. Use it to reposition or punish!
3 fall damage · 15 stamina · 4 charges · Knockback
Weapon Triangle
Every weapon has a counter. Read the AI and adapt:
Sword beats Bow — close the gap fast, punish the long charge
Bow beats Shield — chip away safely from range while they turtle
Axe beats Shield — smashes through the block, deals full damage, disables shield
Shield beats Sword — block the fast swings, wait for an opening
You can see the AI winding up attacks (glowing weapon) and recovering (red flash). Use these windows to strike or dodge!
Stamina
Everything costs stamina — swinging, shooting, jumping, even holding your shield. If you run out, you can't act.
- Stamina regenerates over time (green bar under your hearts)
- Regenerates faster at range — retreat to recharge!
- You sprint slightly faster when above 50% stamina
- Shield drains stamina continuously while held
Don't spam attacks! Watch your stamina bar. Retreating to recharge is a legitimate strategy, not running away.
Timing & Commitment
Attacks aren't instant. Each weapon has a windup (the charge before the swing) and a recovery (the pause after). During recovery, you can't attack, shield, or move.
- Sword: 150ms windup + 200ms recovery — fast and safe
- Axe: 600ms windup + 500ms recovery — big risk, big reward
- If you miss an axe swing, you're locked out for over a second — the AI will punish you
- You can see windups on both you AND the AI (glowing effect on the weapon arm)
Arena Hazards
The colosseum itself fights back! Random hazards appear during the match:
🔥 Fire Wave
A wall of fire sweeps across the arena floor. Jump to dodge it! Deals 2 damage.
🪨 Falling Rock
A pulsing red warning appears on the ground. Move away before impact! Deals 4 damage.
Hazards hit both you AND the AI equally. Use them strategically — knock the AI into a hazard with wind charge!
AI Personalities
Each match, the AI gets a random fighting style. It's shown in the top bar. Learn to read them:
Aggressive
Rushes in close, mixes sword and axe, uses wind charge to close distance. Fight fire with fire or shield up and counter.
Defensive
Waits for you to commit, then counter-attacks during your recovery. Shields often. Use axe to break the shield, or bow from range.
Ranged
Keeps distance, fires arrows and TNT, uses wind charge to push you away if you get close. Close the gap fast with sword.
The AI gets smarter as you level up. At higher levels it dodges projectiles, reacts to your windups, and punishes mistakes harder.
Progression
Win matches to level up (every 10 wins). Higher levels increase your weapon damage but also make the AI faster and smarter. Max level is 5.
Quick Tips
- Don't just sword-spam — the AI will start shielding. Switch to axe to break it.
- Bow is great for safe damage at range. Even a quick-shot (tier 1) chips away for free.
- TNT damages you too! Don't throw it in melee range.
- Jump over fire waves. Dodge away from falling rocks.
- Watch the AI's weapon glow — it telegraphs what's coming.
- Retreat when low on stamina. You regen faster at distance.
- Wind charge + axe combo: launch them, then axe when they land.
- The mice in the stands are watching and judging. Make them cheer for you!
